I haven't read the book yet but our pastor is teaching on forgiveness and this was one of the resources he encouraged us to use. Then just about an hour ago a friend e-mailed me telling me about the book and how much she liked it.

Hello SusieB,

Nice to see you on the board. The grandkids are an acceptable excuse for not being on the board for a while. Have no comment about the Shack but just wanted to say hello

I am reading this book right now! I'll admit that it is quite interesting. Not sure I agree with everything in it nor how sound theologically it is. Am trying to decide if my "distrust"? (is that the word I want?) is due to my own preconcieved (sp?) ideas or not. I am pretty conservative in my views.

read the Shack and loved it. Ilike the way it opened up my mind to different views of God in my head. Does that make sense? Piercing the Darkness did the same thing for me years ago. Helped me to see our world in a whole new way. I actually want to read The Shack again--slower. I raced through it because I wanted to see what happened! My husband doesn't like to read so I bought the book on audio for him for Christmas.

I recently read it and really enjoyed it. Like a previous poster mentioned, I want to go back and read it again much more slowly. I am newly saved and have many questions--The Shack touched on many of my questions. However, because it is a work of fiction, I don't want to take what I read in the novel as truth. But, it did give me a lot to think about!

I have the book sitting on top of my tv right now. I haven't read it yet, but it will be interesting to read some feedback on it and see if its worth it! Thanks ladies!
