Vinegar???

Postby findingthetruth » Thu Jul 09, 2009 12:57 pm

I have no idea if this is where I should post this but I have a question. Has anyone used vinegar in their hair before? If so is it safe to use if you have highlights? I've tried researching and all I've find is that it's really good for your scalp and hair and if you have high lights and you go into a pool and your highlights turn a greenish tint, using vinegar will take it out, oh and I read it's a natural highlighter so anyways if anyone knows that would be great. thanks sorry if this isn't the right place to post this.

I have in fact rinsed my hair with vinegar. I didn't notice any difference except it was stripped of all the gunk in it.
I don't know about the highlights.
Vinegar has a lot of helpful qualities. I drank it for awhile to help with digestion (yuck, yuck and yuck).

I noticed I am quite late on this post so am wondering if you have tried it and how it worked on your hair?

thanks lovelevi, oooh I couldn't imagine drinking it but I have read it has alot of uses. I haven't tried it in my hair yet though, I'm too scared. I've read that different types of vinegar like apple cider vinegar is for a certain color of hair it it brings out the highlights so with my hair having blonde highlights I'm scared to do it. I thought about doing it just on a section to see what would happen. All I know is that if something went wrong and I needed to go to the salon I go to for my highlights it is a minimum of $350 for them to "fix" your hair, OUCH that's expensive.

Wow, that is pretty expensive to get your hair fixed.

I don't do things like I once did but I used to try every hair idea/make-up trend at least once.

Have you ever tried the shampoo's that are made specifically for brunettes, blonds etc?

I believe I used the one by Fredrick Fekkai and it was really good.
