Good Afternoon Ladies!

2 days ago Employment Ontario released to all employment services across Ontario their fate and destiny as far "opening" or "closing". We were all told this would be coming nearly 2 years ago so really we had an idea ... I know that God will provide and I am looking forward to the opportunities this will offer! Like really excited about it ...

The program that I work for will be closing offices in 2 cities and will continue to operate in the 3rd city. So far I am seeing this is wonderful news as each city in my surrounding area seems to have, so far, had one of the major employment service remain open. Now, each of these employment services will be instructed very shortly as to how they will operate in the new contract and service delivery plan because we have been informed that the services in each office will change more likely to operate like a "one stop shop" for people seeking employment. Which of course means growth in different ways and the possibility for opportunities.

I am praying that I will be able to secure employment in the office that will remain open in the other city and that they will still honor my mat. leave - see I can certainly continue to take the whole year as Employment Insurance will pay it ... however, the same security for a job with the pay that I make is not guaranteed at this point. So ... in being able to secure employment in the 3rd office will create that feeling of security for my family, will help us to continue benefits and will more than likely allow me take the whole year of maternity ... otherwise I will have to jump on the band wagon pretty quickly when all the other offices close and apply for the positions that come up at the time of restructuring throughout the area so that I can be competitive ... I would probably need to return early. Which I have told the Lord and my husband I would be willing to do. Now taking employment at other agency earlier (August 1, 2010) would also probably mean more pay would be a real blessing for my family. It would allow my dh to continue to stay home with both babies and still continue on one income (wonderful! I really like this idea). It may even allow for growth and experience in the field, an opportunity to bless and serve in different ways. Hmmm ... we'll see what God has planned. I am really excited to see where He will place me and what His plans are for my family! For I know that they are good and I look forward to them!
Please continue to pray that we will be sensitive to the calling of the Lord and that all those that are going through this transition at this time will only move closer to the Lord - many are feeling uncertain but I am sure they will be blessed!

Hi Erica,

You were in my mind. I will surely pray for your situation and for your dh. I just pray that he will find a job so that you can have a one year maternity leave and at least feel great in being the financial provider in the home. Any family around or good friend who would like to earn few bucks caring for your baby? I will pray for that too. A Christian from your church will be so much better. My daughter in law put on Christian music when my grand daughter was only three months old and now my grand- daughter who is 9 months old love clapping her hands in the church during worship time. It was a delight.

All has worked out and continues to work out - grateful to God!

I am still on maternity leave and at this point will return to work in April 2011. As we have all been interviewed for our new positions (very similar to the ones we held before ... I am looking forward to the new program and slight changes in my role). Glory to God we even got pay raises.
