Imaginary friends

Postby gerber daisy » Tue Nov 03, 2009 9:14 am

At what age are imaginary friends no longer okay. My little girl is only three and a half so I think she is okay and it is funny to hear her talk to "Bob and Larry" from Veggie tales...those are her imaginary friends! Why do kids even get imaginary friends?
LOL At this moment she is tell her brother that it is Batman and Robin's birthday so she is going to make them a cream cheese cake!

Sounds like you little girl has a wonderful imagination!

My little boy is 6 and he has Sadie Mittens, her dog Marshmallow, her cousins The Chirplings and her Uncle Frisbee.

She also has brothers and sisters but they only come around once in awhile. My mom said that she was always told a great imagination/imaginary friends is a sign of intellect.

I don't really know but it is so much fun and he just loves these "people". I am sure it is harmless unless of course they have these "friends" when they are 13 then we may want to seek help....lol.

Enjoy it! They grow up so fast. I have been trying to write down as many of my son's stories as possbile so when he is 30 we can set down and I can tell him about all his tall tales.

Oh my, if she has imaginary friends at 13 it may be ME that needs to go to the nuthouse! Yikes!
Thanks for your words...it is nice to hear other parents tell stories as well. Kids are wonderful (most of the time).
